Spring has arrived, the days are getting longer, and the first buds are appearing in the Cotentin Marshes. This is often the time when we feel that urgent need to break the routine, to leave the city for a breath of fresh air.

But in spring, pitching a tent can still seem a bit… chilly! We open in May. That’s when the “Glamping” (Glamorous camping) takes on a whole new meaning. At Camping la Baie des Veys, we have the perfect solution for couples looking for originality without sacrificing their comfort: our unusual accommodations.

An immersion in the heart of the Regional Natural Park

Camping La Baie des Veys is fortunate to be nestled in an exceptional setting: the Cotentin and Bessin Marshes Regional Natural Park . It is a living territory that changes its appearance with the seasons.

In spring, you might have the chance to witness the “whites” phenomenon, when floods transform the marshes into immense mirrors of water reflecting the sky. It’s a mystical, photogenic, and utterly unique atmosphere, unlike anything else in Normandy.

The kingdom of calm and biodiversity

Here, the only sounds you’ll hear are the wind rustling through the reeds and birdsong. The Baie des Veys is a major migratory corridor. With your binoculars, you can admire the scenery along a path or from a birdwatching hide:

  • White storks (which return to nest as early as February/March).
  • Spoonbills, egrets and many species of wild ducks.
  • And of course, the famous harbor seals can be seen in the Bay at low tide.

It is this raw connection with the fauna and flora that we wish to preserve and share with you.

Trails for all levels

Whether you’re looking for a leisurely stroll or a challenging long loop, the playing field is vast:

  • On the land side (The Marshes): Numerous interpretive trails start from the Maison du Parc (in nearby Carentan-les-Marais) to guide you through the peat bogs and wet meadows.
  • Seaside (The Coast): The legendary GR223 (Customs Officers’ Path) follows the coast. From Sainte-Marie-du-Mont, you can walk along Utah Beach and head up towards the Beauguillot nature reserve , an unmissable spot for birdwatching.
