Utah Beach listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site: a well-deserved international recognition
The ranking given to the Normandy beaches highlights the universal importance of Utah Beach . It was here, in the Cotentin peninsula, that more than 23,000 men and 1,700 vehicles landed on June 6, 1944 to begin the liberation of Europe.
Today, walking along this vast beach is like retracing the steps of history while contemplating unspoiled maritime landscapes. This UNESCO designation guarantees the lasting protection of these memorial spaces for future generations.
